Huainan is a city with rich history, culture, and modern industry. Located on the bank of the Huaihe River in the central-northern part of Anhui Province, Huainan is known historically as a strategically important way to Zhongzhou (now Henan) and a natural barrier against invasion from Jiangnan (a large area covering the middle and lower reaches of theYangtze River)
Under its jurisdiction, there are two counties and six districts, one national economic development area and one high-tech area, with 59 towns, 12 townships, and 19 sub-district, totaling 90 township level administrative regions. There are 281 community resident committees and 827 village committees. The total population in the city is over 3 million and the total area of the city is 5,571 square kilometers. There are 4 high-speed railway stations across the city.
Huainan, an excellent tourism city in China, boasts abundant tourism resources. There are precious tourism resources in the city including ancient battlefield of the battle of Feishui River, the ancient Shouzhou Kiln site, the ancient Maoxian Taoist Temple, the ancient fossil group, the ancient tomb group, and Bagong Mountain tofu. The footprints left by Huang Xie, the Lord of Chunshen, Lian Po, a famous general of Zhao State, Zhao Kuangyin, the founder of Song Dynasty, the great poet Li Bai, Su Dongpo, and Sun Jianai, the imperial teacher for two emperors, will drive you to travel here.
