Xiejiaji District
Xiejiaji District is located in the geographical center of Huainan City, bordering Changfeng County to the south, Shouxian County to the west, and Huaihe River and Bagongshan to the north. There are 4 towns, 2 townships (including 1 ethnic minority township), 5 streets, and 1 national high-tech area -- Intelligent Manufacturing Park of Huainan High-tech Area, 56 administrative villages and 37 communities. It covers an area of approximately 275.7 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 221,6000.
The transportation advantage is excellent. The basic pattern of the modern comprehensive transportation system of water, land, and air in Xiejiaji District has been formed, which provides strong support for building an open-up urban area. The water route connects the Yangtze River and sea, and the water diversion project links the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River through Wabu Lake and Dongfei River. The ground road network connects all directions. Hefei-Huainan- Fuyang Expressway, S102 and S310 run through the district. Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway and Huainan-Fuyang Railway connect the four major arteries of Beijing-Shanghai Railway, Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Lanzhou-Lianyungang Railway, and Beijing-Kowloon Railway smoothly. The urban area is 2 kilometers away from the Toll Gate of Huainanxi Expressway, 4 kilometers away from Shouxian Station, and 14 kilometers away from Huainannan Station. The air transportation is becoming increasingly convenient, and the urban area is 70 kilometers away from Xinqiao Airport.
Rich historical and cultural heritage. Xiejiaji District has a long history and has produced a lot of famous people. Caichu Culture has a long origin and is famous nationwide. Liu An, the Prince of Huainan Kingdom during the Western Han Dynasty, and his followers once wrote “Huainanzi” here. The famous battle of “Battle of Feishui River” took place here. There are historical and cultural relics preserved in the area, such as the tomb of Huang Xie, Lord of Chunshen, one of the four princes of the Warring States Period, and the tomb of Yang Qizhen, the navy commander in the Qing Dynasty. “Chudading”, the treasure of the Anhui Museum, was unearthed from the Prince Chuyou Mausoleum site in Yangong Town. “Double Martyrs” cultural park education base for Wang Yinghuai and Wang Peiwu has been built. Marshal Xu Xiangqian personally wrote the inscription for martyr Wang Yinghuai “the name of the hero will be written in history and the glory will encourage future generations”. The district is rich in cultural tourism resources. It boasts Wolong Mountain Forest Park, Shijian Lake Park, Chunshen Lake, Wolong Lake (Rushan Reservoir) and Shijia Lake.
The prospects for industrial development are broad. As the sub-center of Huainan City, Xiejiaji District enjoys the opportunities of the integration of Yangtze River Delta, the Rise of Central China, Economic Belt of Huaihe River Ecology. Located at the forefront of the one-hour Hefei economic circle, the northern bridgehead of the development axis of the Hefei- Huainan Industrial Corridor, and the intersection of the urban economy along the Huaihe River and the Fengyang-Shouxian industry and tourism development belt, the district has enormous potential to create new driving forces for economic growth.
