Bagongshan District

Bagongshan District is located in the west of the main urban area of Huainan City, bordering Xiejiaji District in the east, Fengtai County in the west, Shouxian County in the southwest, and Panji District in the north. The Huaihe River runs through the district. The historic mountain is located in the district. It has profound cultural heritage and picturesque natural scenery. The district covers an area of 67 square kilometers, and the river line of the Huaihe River is 11.4 kilometers. The registered residence population is about 150000. There are two towns and three streets under its jurisdiction.

A famous historical and cultural city. Bagong Mountain was the ancient battlefield of the Battle of Feishui River and the Battle of Nantang. It is the birthplace of the masterpiece “Huainanzi”, traditional Chinese cuisine tofu and 24 solar terms. The Huainan Insect fossil is the earliest paleontological fossil discovered on earth and is hailed by the international geological community as the source of life on the “Blue Planet”. The Bagongshan Scenic Area has been rated as a provincial scenic area, a national geological park, a national forest park, and a national 4A-level scenic area.

New area for industrial transformation. Relying on a mature industrial system and foundation, Bagongshan has built characteristic parks with upstream and downstream industrial chains including the Green and Environmental Protection Building Materials Park, Industrial Park of Export, and Tofu Industrial Park, forming advantageous industries such as green food, light textile, equipment manufacturing, and new building materials.

Green ecological urban area. Adhering to ecological priority, green development, strengthening air quality supervision, strengthening ecological protection of the waterway of Huaihe River, and cracking down on illegal activities that damage the ecological environment, Bagongshan is building a livable and business friendly district.
