Maoji Experimental Zone

Maoji Experimental Zone is located in the southwest of Huainan City. It governs three towns, one 4A-level scenic area (Jiaogang Lake National Wetland Park), and one provincial economic development area. The total area is 201 square kilometers, with a population of 13,5000.

Convenient transportation. Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway runs through the zone and sets up a station in Maoji. Jinan-Qimen Expressway and Chuzhou-Xincai Expressway connect and set an exit in Maoji, becoming an important transportation hub in northern Anhui, achieving smooth connection between the Central Plains, Anhui and Yangtze River Delta; The Huaihe River flows through Maoji for 17.2 kilometers. The ecological environment is picturesque. Rivers crisscross and wetland resources are abundant. The forest coverage rate and per capita public green space area rank top in Northern Anhui. Rich resources. It has one 4A-level national wetland park and one national water conservancy scenic area. The folk art is prosperous. Intangible cultural heritage projects such as Flower Drum Lantern and Tuiju Opera have strong local characteristics. There are 530 million tons of coal reserves.
