In recent years, Maoji Experimental District has made the best of the local superior tourism resources, and strived to create a higher-quality development of all-round tourism cultural resort through relevant projects. In 2023, the district attracted 1.75 million visitors and thus brought 750 million yuan in tourism revenue.
Stepping into Zhongpei Yuquanwan Hot Spring Vacation Village situated beside Jiaogang Lake, the reporters were astonished at smoggy hot spring and surging crowds, demonstrating a lively scene. Now, the resort has become a famous tourist spot for Maoji district. The project covers an area of 1,000 mu with a total investment of 1.46 billion yuan. The goal is to build an international hot spring resort integrating environmental protection, ecological living and leisure experience.
Focusing on the integration of culture and tourism to release more new momentum for development, Maoji Experimental District promotes the strategy of Tourism Plus and Plus Tourism, accelerates the formation of the tourism pattern featured with a multi-point support and multi-industry integration in a bid to promote the diversified development of tourism. A variety of business and tourism forms such as Huagu opera art, boiled egg with lotus leaves, Jiaogang Lake Film and TV Studio, fish banquet complement each other. In particular, Jiaogang Lake Ice and Snow Agricultural Tourism Complex Project integrated with ice world, research and learning, farming and natural lake landscape takes the 10,000-year Ice Cave World as its competitive product, a new exploration of the tourism industry with the total project investment of 365 million yuan.
Culture and tourism interact and promote each other. Based in eastern China and facing the Yangtze River Delta, Maoji Experimental District has hosted more than 20 cultural activities, including Jiaogang Lake Lobster Festival, Dragon Boat Race, the Lotus Poetry Party and the Huaihe River Cultural Festival, with the highest number of visitors reaching 50,000 per a day.
