On the morning of April 16th, the significant progress meeting of "Archaeology China" project was convened in Huainan City, where the latest findings in the archaeological excavation and cultural relic preservation of the Wuwangdun Tomb were officially disclosed for the first time. The Wuwangdun Tomb, meticulously unearthed through scientific methods, represents the largest, highest-ranked, and most intricately structured large-scale tomb of the Chu state to date. As of now, over a thousand numbered cultural relics, including lacquerware and bronze objects, have been extracted. These artifacts comprise precious items such as bronze ritual vessels, daily utensils, lacquerware, musical instruments, and figurines, with the lacquerware being unprecedented in both quantity and variety. Additionally, the large tripod vessel placed at the southern end of East Room Ⅰ measures more than 88 centimeters in diameter, surpassing the previously known largest giant Chu ding vessel unearthed from the Lisangudui (known as the "Zhuke" Ding Vessel). This discovery will rewrite the record of the giant Chu ding vessel.
