Million People’s Pit Education Hall

Million People’s Pit Education Hall, a 3A-level tourist attraction, is located in Datong District, Huainan City. The entire hall covers an area of approximately 31000 square meters, with a floor area of 6900 square meters and an exhibition hall area of approximately 2400 square meters. In March 2013, “Million People’s Pit”, along with nine surrounding sites of evidence of the Japanese invasion of Huainan, including Zhanhou Blockhouse, Secret Water Dungeon, Blockhouse Water Dungeon, Yaoshenmiao, Japanese Bunkers, Japanese Southern Dormitory Blockhouse, Japanese Command, and Japanese Ammunition Depots, was included into the seventh batch of key cultural relics under national protection. On September 1, 2014, it was included by the State Council as the first batch of national commemorative facilities and sites of anti-Japanese war. It has also been rated as a national patriotic education base and a national red classic tourist attraction.
